HAYWARDS HEALTH MUTUAL AID (HHMA) COVID Community Support Group March 2020-April 2021

  • Company Overview: Covid 19 Community Support Group
  • In March 2020, I along with two others, set up a community support group within the Haywards Heath greater area.
  • The aim of this support group was to help community residents who were unable (due to shielding) or had no other support system.
  • Successfully recruited, trained and retained 700 volunteers to provide help with shopping, prescription collections and friendly phone calls
  • Managing the organisations funds, including fundraising, grant applications, paying bills and keeping records of income and expenditure
  • Set up and managed incoming telephone response team to answer calls and field requests to teams
  • Created management reporting as well as team spreadsheets to manage requests
  • Set up an emergency food hub in conjunction with Haywards Heath Town Council
  • We won joint first prize of the Mid Sussex District Council Stronger Communities Award 2020 and myself and my two fellow Trustees were invited to a meeting with HRH The Princess Royal to be recognised for the our contribution to our community during this incredibly difficult time.
