Hi! I'm Jina Seo, and I'm a first-year medical student at King's College London. I recently completed my first year, where I discovered my passion and curiosity for basic science grew significantly. Connecting the dots between the diseases and symptoms that patients show with the molecular science excites me and led me to take a strong interest in medical research.
This passion began during my A-levels, when I independently conducted a systematic review examining the effect of placebo drugs on chronic pain. By analyzing both primary and secondary sources, I gained valuable experience in literature review, data collection, and critical thinking—an experience that sparked my ongoing curiosity and commitment to research.
Alongside my academic interests, I value communication and empathy, which are core to both patient care and collaborative research.
While I remain open to exploring many areas, I'm especially drawn to neuroscience, cell biology, and genetics. Through research experience in Korea, I hope to contribute meaningfully and deepen my understanding of how science drives medicine.
