Electrician

CJK Electrical
Dublin, Ireland
03.2000 - 04.2005
  • I joined CJK after finishing my apprenticeship and enjoyed my time with the company. Within a year of joining
the company I was promoted to foreman and was over a number of challengeing projects with them, the first of
which was the bagage handling installation upgrade in Dublin Airport, the project was completed on time over a
13month period with no more than fifteen members on our crew. It was quite a challenging task as there was a
number of other trades we had to work along side and each task had to be planed in advance in order to have
permits in place and sign off on entry to restricted areas.
I worked on various other industrial / commercial projects over the next couple of years throughout Ireland. The
last project I oversaw on behalf of the company was working on the Dublin Port Tunnel project. I was
responsable for the Electrical requirements involved in the initial temp site set up for the start of the project and
then the continious movement of the offices and stores as the site progressed. The site was supplied by a 200kva
generator for which its upkeep I was responsable, I was also on 24 hr call as in the event of a fault I was
responsable to insure that all essential services i.e. back up pumps etc were switched to the back up generator. I
had a small crew of between 4 and 12 electricians for which I was responsable depending on the works required at
any one time. It was however my most enjoyable project to be involved with to date.

Apprentice Electrician

Mercury Engineering
Dublin, Ireland
04.1995 - 03.2000
  • I served my apprenticeship with Mercury Engineering who would be considered one of the biggest electrical
engineering contractors in Ireland. During my apprenticeship I gained vast experience in the industrial side of
electrical engineering working in a variety of different sites i.e.; Intel, Bristol Myers Squib Pharmaceutical ,
Shamrock Foods, Tallaght Hospital to name but a few. Working in these different environments gave me a great
respect for the importance of health and safety both within the workplace and the trade itself. I also gained a lot
of experience in site start up and expansion and worked both on my initiative and within a large team
