Jiane Vane

• During school I participated in go-karting events that were organized by a company called Greenpower this is where 11 to 25 year old get to produce their own cars and race them around different tracks such as Goodwood or Silverstone this is how I got into engineering as I enjoyed racing the cars, but I also loved maintaining and creating the cars and all the components that made our cars work when going around the tracks. This was difficult at times but I learnt core values such as working quickly and efficiently whilst under pressure.

I first started my career journey at Gatwick airport I would do section rotations around the 6 departments which all were based around mechatronics everyday was different, learning many systems and engineering techniques such as fault-finding, electronics and mechanical principles this is where I first got into PAVA from Life Safety Systems which dealt with fire systems and working on the PA around the airport.

Currently I work a full time as PAVA engineer working on many systems such as ASL, Bosch and occasionally Baldwin & Boxall around many sites in London and also working away in Birmingham or Wales. I have spend the last few years enhancing my skills with rack maintenance, fault finding, speaker installs and every now and then doing big projects such as new builds and installs such London Stadium to which we still look after.
