I am a creative, committed and passionate early years practitioner and class teacher, dedicated to providing high‑quality, consistent care and learning for all children. I have recently completed my ECT2 year as a qualified teacher and have successfully applied the guidance and support I received to strengthen my practice across the EYFS. I am particularly passionate about creating nurturing, engaging and inclusive environments where every child feels safe, valued and able to thrive.
I bring extensive early years experience, having worked for four years in a nursery setting and three years in a nursery school prior to qualifying as a teacher, while completing my Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. These roles gave me a strong foundation in child development, safeguarding, observation and assessment, supporting routines, and promoting children’s personal, social and emotional development. They also strengthened my ability to build secure attachments with children and develop trusting partnerships with families.
I am currently working at Trinity Road Primary School as an EYFS teacher, having started my journey there as a supply teacher in Year 3. I quickly adapted to the school’s planning, teaching and assessment systems and developed a strong understanding of how to support children’s individual needs. I received training in the school’s behaviour approach, which reinforced the importance of adults being calm, consistent and regulated to effectively support children’s emotional development and behaviour.
I have worked with several phonics schemes and currently teach Little Wandle, working closely with the phonics lead to ensure sessions are engaging, consistent and accessible for all learners. I am also trained in Drawing Club, which I value highly as it supports storytelling, imagination, rich vocabulary development and creativity. I particularly enjoy seeing how inclusive this approach is and the progress children make through playful, meaningful learning experiences.
EYFS is currently an area of development at Trinity Road, and I work closely with my team partner to introduce new ideas and improvements across provision. We regularly reflect during PPA time on what works well and where adjustments are needed. When planning, I focus on creating practical, play‑based and child‑led activities that encourage independence while still offering appropriate challenge and support.
I am highly committed to inclusive practice and supporting children with SEND, an area I feel very strongly about due to my own personal experiences in primary school. This has motivated me to ensure all children feel included, listened to and celebrated for their strengths. I have worked closely with SENCOs to create and review One Plans, setting realistic and meaningful SMART targets and adapting provision to meet individual needs.
I have also undertaken a range of CPD, including Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP), which has had a significant impact on my approach. This training reinforced the importance of creating emotionally safe environments and recognising that behaviour is a form of communication, helping me to support children with empathy, consistency and understanding — a core value in nursery and preschool settings.
I thrive in early years environments that value teamwork, reflection and continuous improvement. I am motivated, caring and enthusiastic, with a strong understanding of child development from birth to five. I believe my combination of nursery experience, EYFS teaching practice, creativity and nurturing approach allows me to make a positive and meaningful contribution to a nursery or preschool team.
I look forward to continuing to support young children’s learning and development, working closely with colleagues and families to ensure every child has the best possible start to their early education.
