I am currently working on the Future Programme, which is the largest retail separation programme in the UK, to separate Asda from Walmart. The projects I have delivered across Infrastructure and Supply Chain have been medium to large size, consisting of 30+ team members, both internal and external to the business, with multi-million-pound budgets, using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Microlise ALS project to rebuild 1,400 handheld devices across 26 depots, with a £500k budget. I negotiated contracts with vendors, secured cost-effective services by building a strong partnership, which led to a saving of £300k, and the project delivering ahead of schedule by three months.
- Auto-gatehouse project to migrate the existing gatehouse systems across 26 depots to Asda's new cloud platform, which was implemented seamlessly through appropriate project planning and change management, leading to minimal disruption to the colleagues on site.
- ALS Tail Applications to migrate 26 SaaS applications across 15 suppliers from OldCo to NewCo estate, with the support of a Junior Project Manager whom I mentored and coached through the life cycles.
- Imports Complex Depots, which is a £3.5 million project, responsible for converting Asda's two import depots onto new systems. I have worked with four large vendors: Manhattan, SAP, BY, and TCS, with over 45 people working on the project from all areas in the business that are impacted, e.g. Finance, supply chain, technology, and stores. I have been responsible for managing key changes made by the programme, which impacted timelines and ways of working, as well as identifying key blockers and issues that could affect the quality of the project's deliverables, and subsequently impact the programme down the line to rectify.
- Modern Work Programme to scope 5 key projects with our internal and external teams to understand the dependencies between them, identifying key risks and issues. This programme impacted all colleagues from Stores, Depots, and Head Office with their ways of working post separation. I managed this from initiation through to design, ensuring the correct project management tools were in place, funding secured, and SoWs in place with the external partners.
- Domain Transfer project to transfer domains from Walmart to Asda, which involved agreeing the scope and migration activity with Walmart and our provider, MarkMonitor, which has enabled us to successfully migrate 362 domains to Asda's ownership.
