Over the past two and a half years I have been working as a veterinary nurse assistant initially at Churchfields Vets and currently at Beech House Veterinary practice.
I have always loved working with animals and being a part of a team.
I care and treat all animals as if they are my own from the start of their life right till the end. This can be upsetting at times, but also can be very rewarding, looking after the animals best interests and also being there to support clients and other members of the team. I work well independently and if I have any concerns I will escalate to the most appropriate person, this could be the vet, nurse or management, depending on the needs of the patient.
During my career I have also worked at a riding school/ livery yard before going into small animal care. I really enjoyed the challenges of working with horses and seeing all of their personalities, being hands on with vet visits, farriers, and customers etc.
I managed over 25 horses daily, ranging in difficulty and size from Shetland to 18h+, so I am quite confident in handling and managing their needs. I am experienced in all areas of ground work and ridden as I was working towards my BHS levels and completing an apprenticeship in horse management.
