Following my administration role, I was promoted to Legal Secretary after initially being offered the role after my probation period in 2023. I decided it would be great opportunity to develop my skills in a new and challenging role. I trained multiple people during my time at Martin Tolhurst whilst gaining knowledge in my own new role.

This role was initially based in Medway City Estate but relocated in June 2023. this relocation meant that several offices specialising in multiple legal departments were combined, this meant having to take on an increase of responsibility and having to adapt quickly to different department’s needs.

Duties included but were not limited to:

  • Booking meetings
  • Opening, scheduling and closing files
  • Producing estimates based on client’s sale/purchase requirements
  • Greeting/taking copies and certifying ID and legal documents
  • Answering phone calls, forwarding them to the relevant person and sending on enquiries to various departments
  • Opening, allocating and franking post
  • AMLS, bankruptcy and property searches and obtaining official copy documents via Land Registry
  • Maintaining standards on reception and ensuring the building was locked at appropriate times during office hours to maintain high levels of security and ensure confidentiality.
