Starting from the age of 8, I was a scout for 5 years. I went on 4 scout camps and acquired many badges including the chief scout silver award which is the highest possible award a cub scout can obtain. I also attended annual events like Remembrance Day and Easter services each year.
In August 2022, I was sponsored by Redhill Redstone Rotary Club to go on a week long event called the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). During the week, I and other participants aged 15 to 17 stayed on a site called High Ashurst. Each day we were given activities like hiking without a pre-planned route or raft building, which tested our problem solving and communication skills. I feel that this experience granted me a new level of maturity that I previously didn't have.
Throughout all of my school years till year 9, I always played sports such as football, rugby, cricket and more for my school teams. After year 9, I played for a local football team and trained in brazilian jiu-jitsu and muay thai a couple years later. Training in both martial arts and team based sports has helped me become a well rounded person, able to function well both independently and within a group.
