I used to teach full time, but I now teach supply on an ad hoc basis in order to give myself time to pursue other areas of interest. As a Teacher of English at a Secondary School level, I have experience in teaching a variety of classes from S1 to S6. This includes:

• Planning dynamic, interesting lessons that incorporate a variety of mediums in order to suit a variety of learning styles.
• Differentiating all learning and teaching in order to make it accessible for students with various additional learning needs.
• Continuously engaging in self-reflection and professional learning in order to improve my practice and meet the needs of the students.
• Building strong relationships with students, colleagues and parents, in order to incentivise engagement.
• Liaising with local organisations to deliver workshops, projects and extra-curricular activities that enhance students' learning experiences.

I work part-time for EH5 Learning, in order to deliver private tutoring online to a variety of pupils, in both 1:1 and group settings. I focus on preparing young people for upcoming exams, supporting them in their coursework, and building their confidence in their literacy skills.

Alongside my work as a teacher, I also work as both a director and producer of theatre. I have worked for various local companies over the years, as well as running my own musical theatre company - Bossy Belters - for several years. I have extensive experience of directing and producing a range of entertainment events, from fundraiser cabarets to full scale musicals. Most recently I worked with A Play, A Pie and A Pint on their spring season. A detailed CV of my theatre work is available upon request.

As a probationary teacher, I not only taught a range of classes from S1-S6, but I also undertook additional responsibilities and pursuits in order to best prepare me for a job as a fully qualified teacher. These included:

• Completing weekly written reflections on my practice and on any observed lessons.
• Working 1:1 with students who were unable to attend mainstream classes due to additional needs, mental health struggles or behavioural issues.
• Completing a professional inquiry in the benefits of fostering a community of philosophical inquiry in the classroom, in order to improve confidence levels and social skills amongst pupils.

I started out as a Nandoca (griller, cashier and waitress), but in less than a year I was promoted to Buddy Trainer. This involved additional responsibilities such as:

• Training new staff members and managing all training paperwork
• Aiding supervisors in the hiring process
• Undertaking projects in store to improve service and sales

I was then promoted again to the position of Supervisor, and I remained in this position for several years. My key responsibilities included:

• Managing the restaurant and being in charge of a large team of staff.
• Creating staff rotas that incorporated the availability of over 30 staff members, holiday requests and the needs of the business.
• Dealing with customer complaints and rectifying any product/service issues.
• Managing the finances of the restaurant through the daily cashing up, product ordering and food waste management.
• Use of excel and analysis of restaurant data.
• Maintaining social media pages for the restaurant and utilising local marketing opportunities.
• Problem solving and adapting to unexpected situations on a daily basis.

• Experience in retail, money handling, cashing up, working a till and opening/closing a shop (as a keyholder).
• Customer service, in particular sharing knowledge of literature with customers and keeping up to date with news in the publishing industry.
• Use of complex computer systems.
• Running large events such as author signings, and managing the crowds at these events.
• Creativity in building displays and arranging stock.
• Learning and utilising large amounts of information regarding company policy and stock.
