I am a bilingual Business Management and Marketing undergraduate at Nottingham Trent University, fluent in both English and Spanish, with an international background. Born in Mexico and raised in a multicultural environment, I bring a global perspective and strong communication skills to everything I do.
Alongside my studies at NTU, I have worked in multiple roles within fast-paced, customer-focused environments, gaining valuable hands-on experience and a strong work ethic. I have also taken on leadership responsibilities, including leading shifts , supporting team members, and ensuring daily operations ran smoothly. These experiences helped me develop confidence in decision-making, problem-solving under pressure, and clear communication with both colleagues and customers.
Balancing work alongside university has strengthened my organizational skills, reliability, and adaptability. I am comfortable taking initiative, managing my time effectively, and stepping into responsibility when required. I am open to new opportunities across different areas of business and marketing, and I am motivated to continue developing my professional skills within a structured, corporate environment.
I am basically the store manager when they are not present, while making sure that all the barista's are comfortable with their role so that the shift runs smoothly and we are able to deliver great customer service. I have the responsibilities of making sure the store is up to standards in terms of health and safety and hygiene, as well as managing store orders correctly and checking temperatures and dates of all food and drinks.
As a supervisor I am also in charge of making sure all baristas are doing their job and not running off track, I will delegate tasks to them so that they are keeping busy, train them if needed so that they're doing things up to store standards.
I am also pleased to mention that i reward the baristas when they show that they have done good work, this motivates them to work harder and enjoy their job which is very important!
As shift leader one of the biggest roles is making sure that unhappy customers are dealt with in the best way possible. Our company uses the phrase 'Make the moment right' so that we prioritize making the customer happy and any issues had are resolved in the way that they are left pleased. This is important so that we do not lose out on customers and maximise our sales.
Working at JD meant helping customers on the shop floor with finding products, sizes, and styles. I also served customers at the till, kept the store tidy and well presented, and helped with deliveries and stock. Working as a part of a team in a busy environment while supporting sales and giving customers a good experience was important to maximise sales so communication was crucial.
I wasn't there for long as I enjoyed being a barista for a while that I got offered my Starbucks role but I'm not afraid to say JD is an awesome job
As a barista at costa coffee, I made sure to deliver fast and super friendly service to customers across both the drive through and in store. I made a wide range of drinks and made sure that they were made up to brand standards even during peak periods, as well as making sure everything is kept clean, all dates and temperatures of foods and drinks checked etc.
I would open the store and close the store so handling cash and counting it was a part of my role. Working as a team plays a huge part of the role, so communication was very important, I made many friends at costa and made me enjoy my job ten times more!
Working at Ocean Breeze, a local fish and chip shop, I provided customer service in a small, fast-paced hospitality environment, taking orders, serving food, handling payments, and maintaining cleanliness and food hygiene standards. I worked closely with a small team to support the day to day running of the shop. While the role helped me develop independence and responsibility, I found I preferred working within a larger company with more structure, teamwork, and opportunities to learn and progress.
I started off as a store assistant then got promoted as a Crew Trainer after a few months at McDonald’s, where I was responsible for supporting and training new starters across different stations while ensuring company procedures and food safety standards were followed at all times. I would support team members when needed, and worked closely with management to help maintain smooth daily operations. I also played a key role in creating a positive and supportive working environment while ensuring customers consistently received a high standard of service!
