
I am an accountable, professional yet approachable, kind, compassionate, pro-active, reliable paediatric nurse with over fifteen years experience in both clinical and community environments. I thrive on building therapeutic relationships and working creatively with different age groups and vulnerabilities, in ways that ultimately empowers them, builds self-efficacy and resilience. I am efficient in empathically assessing, planning and providing effective interventions, whilst utilising my motivational interviewing skills to manage difficult and sensitive situations and conversations on a daily basis. I hold excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills and am always willing improve on my professional development, ensuring I maintain and enhance the skills needed to deliver high quality care, effectively and safely. As an autonomous practitioner I am proactive in managing my own caseload, time management, decision-making and leadership skills. Working efficiently under pressure I retain excellent outcomes and am self-motivated and able to prioritise my workload and my time keeping. The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Is a national evidence-based programme. The programme aims to improve antenatal health, child health and development and parents self -sufficiency in disadvantaged hard to reach young families who are expecting their first baby. FNP is an intensive, preventive home visiting programme. My role includes-
Delivering the Healthy Child Programme specialising in working with a diverse range of families with a child aged 0 to 5 to identify health needs as early as possible and improve health and wellbeing by promoting health, preventing ill health and reducing inequalities. This included visiting homes to offer advice on feeding, safety, immunisations and mental health, while also safeguarding vulnerable children and linking families to wider support services.
Providing comprehensive evidence-based clinical care to children from birth to young adulthood with varying needs, including acute illness, trauma and chronic disabilities. Key duties included assessing, planning, and implementing care, administering medication, venepuncture, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe, child-friendly environment. It was also key to provide a family centred approach, supporting parents/guardians and providing education on treatment, and involving them in care decisions.
