I am a History student earning my undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, where I decided to study abroad. In pursuit of this degree, while also expanding my studies to courses concerning, political science, international relations, and social anthropology, I have drastically improved my writing, organizing, and time management skills. I have developed this interest in history throughout my years spent learning and developing at the Webb School of Knoxville, which greatly prepared me for the college experience. Aside from academic experiences, my time spent as a Boy Scout tasked me to develop my leadership, teamwork, and communication skills along with whole host of extra knowledge that was solidified with me earning the Eagle Scout Award. Without these past and ongoing experiences, I cannot say I would be the same hardworking and mature adult I am today.
• Repaired and painted indoor areas such as halls, bathrooms, and dorm rooms
• Required a lot of practical skills in using different brushes, painting methods, and equipment in order to create a pristine image of the rooms we worked in
• These practical skills were something I did not have and immediately had to learn and get acclimated with to make sure I was on task, which I did
• Required great correspondence with my team of colleagues and supervisors we worked under
• Also involved periods of isolation and the dependence that I could perform my job adequately by myself and in a timely manner
• Managed large groups of young campers ranging from ages 6-14
• Entrusted to make the campers' aftercare experience fun and safe through well conducted games and events
• Tasked with communicating and working well with fellow counselors since we would be partnered up each week to look after a new group of kids
•Communicated well with leadership and camp directors as aside from taking care of the campers we would also be tasked with cleaning up areas and taking account of our inventory
• Navigated areas around East Tennessee that were unfamiliar to get orders to their destinations as quickly and safely as possible
• Enforced a strict adherence on myself to normal work hours since Uber leaves management of a work schedule up to their drivers
• Communicated well through Uber's app technology with restaurant/fast food workers and client in order to make the delivery process as easy and quick as possible
• Developed leadership and team-working skills through interacting and communicating with fellow staff members and camp directors
• Due to the ongoing risk of COVID-19 at the time of employment, camp counselors were additionally tasked with following and ensuring the campers were also following safe medical protocol and practices such as social distancing and mask wearing
• Tasked with managing and taking care of campus space once we were done using them and taking inventory of school items that we used during the day
