As a Deputy Sister, working on a busy acute Haematology Ward, my role encompasses ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care and ensuring staff feel safe and supported.
Communication and leadership skills are essential to ensuring the team meets the needs of the busy ward.
I expect a high standard of patient care and am keen to support staff in delivery of this.
A strong foundation in clinical skills and Haematology knowledge supports my commitment to teaching and extending junior staff. I am a strong believer in empowering staff, encouraging them to understand 'why' and to question what they don't understand.
I am quick to ask for help or understanding when necessary.
I am open to learning new methods and procedures, to ensure my practice remains relevant and competitive.
Enrolled on the 2 year Graduate Nurse Program therefore was on a structured clinical rotation through various wards as well as having Graduate study days and assignments throughout that time.
