  • We work with the deaf and the blind. All the residents are deaf, however, some some more sight than others but hard to tell how much they actually have.
  • Get the residents up and help them through their morning/daily routines (washing, dressing, helping them make food and drinks, brush their hair/teeth etc.)
  • Take the residents out (to do some shopping, cafe, into town, to the local shops, to workshops etc.)
  • Participate in daily activities (painting, puzzles, tactile, baking, arts and crafts, emptying dishwasher, cutting veg etc.)
  • Cook them lunch and dinner, sometimes the residents help (peel carrots/potatoes etc.)
  • The residents sign to us when they need help or to let us know they would like something (toilet, tea & cake, shower etc.) We also use sign to let them know when food is ready or to let them know they are going to participate in "work" like activities such as bedroom management. We also sign to ask if they would like a shower or drink etc.
  • Build a positive relationship with the residents.
