My core responsibilities included monthly accounts across 10+ high value contracts, revenue and cost reconciliation (labour, fleet, overheads, subcontractors), balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting weekly P&L reporting. I also assisted with forecasting, budgeting, and resolving customer/account queries, while supporting colleagues and covering work when required.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Produced accurate month-end reconciliations (using Oracle) for multiple logistics contracts with combined annual revenue exceeding £50m.
• Completed detailed balance sheet reconciliations (using Blackline) and resolved discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Delivered weekly P&L reporting and analysis, supporting operational decision-making.
• Supported budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis against actuals.
• Investigated and resolved customer account queries and billing issues.
• Assisted with weekly financial reviews with Operations teams, explaining performance and key variances.
• Collaborated with colleagues and provided support across the finance team when required.

In my role as a finance controller, I led on accurate cost reconciliation on a single source contract from the UK Ministry of Defence, regulated by the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO) and requiring compliance with the 2014 Single Source Act provision. I was responsible for ensuring compliance of our quarterly contract reports with the SSRO legislation and accounting framework.

Working within the Project Management Office (PMO) I represented the Defence department and facilitated effective communication with internal and external business partners, MTB UK subsidiaries, customers and contractors.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Produced internal budgets and forecasts and maintained rolling forecast for two departments within MTB UK.
• Month end closure (which included accruals, prepayments, stock Adjustments) for the wider Defence Department.
• Responsible for reviewing and forecasting labour requirements for the contract.
• Submitted quarterly contract reports to Single Source Regulations Office.
• In charge of reporting on MoD and Government assets within MAN's control management through MTB UK's Public store account.
• Assisted Finance Business Partners to produce Service, Parts & Overheads forecast for all MTB UK branches (i.e., additional to the MoD business).

• Prepared financial information to support contract bid.
• Stakeholder engagement and managing customer relationship during the delivery of the project/contract.
• Reconciled monthly Balance Sheet transactions.
• Reviewed contract documentation and presented extracts i.e., costs, risks etc.
• Created standard quote forms to capture costs for external bids.
• Produced quotes for the customers using company standard template(s).
• Created and maintained basic job costing data and project profitability analysis.
• Traced individual project quotes against actual costs and prepared profitability statements.
• Maintained standard hourly costs and charge rate tracker for each external consultant working on the contract.
• Supported MAN's Parts Business by providing analysis of parts costs and producing reports.
• Raised purchase orders on SAP accounting system.
• Used company's Nero system to reconcile supplier invoices.

• Processed purchase orders on daily basis via Oracle Database management system.
• Used excel spreadsheet on daily basis, employing various data analysis methods e.g., v lookup, macros, pivot tables and using simple formulas.
