I am a well-presented, British professional, who returned to the UK in late 2018 after 12 successful years working primarily in the veterinary sector in the Middle East. Although I currently still am a Partner of 2Feet4Paws Veterinary Clinic in Dubai, this is largely a ‘silent’ role and I’m currently working remotely as Project Manager on the build of my third veterinary clinic in the UAE. I’m seeking a new challenge for 2023 onwards in veterinary or petcare sector management roles based in the UK, as I feel that is where my future lies, and although I am currently Norfolk based, I can relocate, work remotely or hybrid-work if required.

Remote Project Manager

  • I was approached in the Spring of this year to remotely project manage the build of my third veterinary clinic in the UAE by an investor, and am currently enjoying the preliminary stages of working with the assigned retail branding team, veterinary architects, trusted suppliers and management consultants to ensure we start off this new project using all the key positive attributes of previous clinic builds
  • The owner wishes for me to either relocate to the UAE to manage the clinic when it opens later this year or recruit a suitable post holder for the role.

  • In 2014 I was given the opportunity to become a Partner in a new veterinary clinic, and our first clinic opened it’s doors in Dubai in February 2015
  • After a successful first 12 months of trading, we were approached by developers Nakheel to open a branch on Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah, which successfully opened in February 2017
  • My responsibilities included licensing and compliance with local regulatory requirements and met regularly with Emirati Federal Government managers, Ministers and Royal Family members when required.
  • I project managed the design, tendering process, build and fit out of two veterinary clinics from ‘shell and core’ to completion including installation of digital x-ray and endoscopy suites
  • I liaised with veterinary management consultancy, digital marketing and practice management software providers
  • Management of 22 members of both clinical and non-clinical staff, including 6 vets and 7 nurses, across 2 sites
  • I enjoyed fostering great working relationships with both corporate and private clients
  • Management and control of purchasing, stock control, accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • I established and implemented business procedures and process improvements
  • Analyzed and presented financial standings and cost effectiveness to other partners and investors
  • Minimized risk exposure through careful advice on business operations and strategic plans

  • On my return to the United Kingdom, I identified a need for an international pet transport service, specifically driving pets and their owners from European airports back to the UK via Eurotunnel to allow for cost effective global relocation of pets – reducing the amount of pets rehomed and abandoned globally
  • This quickly grew, and we have helped countless rescue groups as well as relocating expats from all over the world
  • I see it as a success that I set up a successful international startup which ran for 3 years consistently throughout a global pandemic
  • We relocated over 1000 pets safely using highest welfare standards possible
