Teaching children of primary school age with

complex, long term additional support needs, primarily associated with learning disability and an autistic spectrum condition. Managing a team of support staff. Working with with parents including regular communication through texts, diaries and phone calls and school reports and have regular child planning meetings. Liasing with external agencies in keeping with GIRFEC guidelines.

I am currently teaching a primary 1/2 class.

Responsible for an S1/2 base class with a range of complex needs including Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Downs Syndrome, Fragile X and learning disabilities. Supporting the young people in their transition to secondary education.

Responsible for the running and planning of two language units within a mainstream primary. Supporting positive behaviour strategies and ensuring individualised learning for pupils. Facilitating communication with other teachers in the school to support inclusion and equity for the children in the units. Organising and managing child planning meetings. Working with parents and partnership agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. Managing transitions to secondary for P7 pupils within the unit.

Teaching children with learning disabilities the majority of whom also have autistic spectrum conditions. Class planning and organisation. Managing a team of nursery nurses and learning assistants. Collaborating and communicating with partner agencies and parents. Gained experience in supporting children with communication difficulties using Picture Exchange Communication systems, intensive interaction and through the use of play and positive behaviour strategies.

Class teacher working in both primary and Secondary teaching children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities most of whom had cerebral palsy. Learned to adapt the curriculum to work with children who have severe and multiple learning disabilities and need adaptations to support their physical and sensory needs.

Managing a nursery class of fifty children with three nursery nurses. Planning and organising the nursery on a daily basis. Learned organisational skills with regard to

working with large numbers of children and the related paperwork. Gained experience of the importance of play and child-led

learning.

Started as probationary teacher responsible for primary 4/5

class. Learned about classroom management, planning and working within a school environment. Learned about managing behaviours that challenge in my first year of teaching in a school within a community of multiple deprivation.Was then invited to teach nursery and a primary one/two class. I gained considerable experience in supporting transitions and in working with parents.

Working in collaboration with class teachers

to support them in preparing resources and supporting pupils with learning activities. Playground supervision.

Part time play worker. Responsible for

organising and supporting play activities for children with additional support needs.

Worked in Theatre, Television, Radio and Film. Performed in the West End and in numerous touring productions. Acted in Fringe First Award winning play 'Exile' and in nominated play 'Risk'. Worked in Theatre in Education. Assisted in training of police and social worker through role play.
