I enjoy photography and travelling (visiting National Trust properties and other cultural places of interest). I also enjoy reading, both for pleasure and to satisfy my thirst for knowledge. I find cooking (many varied cuisines) and baking both relaxing and enjoyable.
During my career with Allerdale Borough Council, I worked my way up from Benefits Clerk to Benefits Manager. Along the way, I organised and hosted a publicity campaign for landlords and welfare groups around the implementation of Local Housing Allowance. I implemented a system to ensure that the flood victims in 2015 received the financial help packages to which they were entitled within a tight deadline, and I assisted with a departmental restructure, from project management to implementation.
At Asda I have been recognised by management for excellent customer service leading to increased customer satisfaction, displaying flexibility ensuring that the counter remained open when other staff were absent and extensive knowledge of systems and procedures which contributed towards a high overall score in a compliancy audit.
