I am hard working individual who works well as part of a team or on my own. In my previous roles I have developed strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to remain calm in high pressure situations.
In my current role as a machine operator I am responsible for setting up the machine to ensure running correct specification as instructed on the job sheets. Other responsibilities when running the machine are maintaining the quality of the carpet at all times looking for any sort of default that could occur with the yarn or possible faults from the machine like gauge parts. if there is a gauge part problem I am required to replace broken or damaged parts under the machine like loopers, reeds and knife blocks. If a yarn fault occurs I mend the carpet to ensure the quality of the carpet.
I have previously helped out with the training new recruits on the machines ensuring they are comfortable and confident on all aspects of running the machine.
I also work on the knife station covering holidays or helping out when busy.
Key responsibilities included having good communication skills with other staff and inmates, being able to de-escalate potential high risk situations whilst remaining calm under pressure.
Keeping all important documentation up to date including ACCT documents, E-List books and first night checks.
Other responsibilities included logging outgoing mail checking for any security restrictions.
