I have always been keen to fix things around the house and find out how different things work I have always liked to help my Papa solve problems and fix things around their farm from sheds to machinery, even from a young age I enjoy doing Woodwork, Design and Manufacture at school and have begun to use various tools I am a very hands-on person and like to learn while I am working I enjoy Math's, especially problem solving and have found learning about electrical currents in Physics very interesting I feel all this will help me in my future Engineering career, where I will need to solve practical and mechanical problems daily
I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, I was a member of ATA Kilmarnock for 9 years I had to be disciplined in my training, as I have learned 11 increasingly difficult forms and many moves I helped teach younger students weekly and have enjoyed seeing them move through their belts and grades This helped me to gain confidence in my own ability and communication with others
I am a keen member of Kilmaurs Young Farmers Club, taking part in various competitions from cattle dressing to sports competitions I am also taking part in the annual variety concert this year
I have played Rugby for 14 years and currently play with Kilmarnock Rugby Club Under 18’s I play position 12 which is Inside Centre I need to be agile, able to think on my feet on the pitch with this position and effectively communicate with my teammates I need to be able to defend and provide support to the rest of the team I was recently chosen by my coaches to try out for the West Regional Development Pathway
In my hobbies and on the farm, I need to be always aware that safety is very important, whether it is working with tools, animals, sparring or a rugby game
