I am a highly motivated and active manager with a broad range of knowledge and experience drawn from the range of roles and responsibilities I have undertaken within my 14 years in the Fire service. I take accountability for my continual professional development and strive to achieve and maintain high standards in all that I do, and I am fully committed to the core values of SFRS.
I am experienced in delivering on service objectives and monitoring improving performance against the challenges of time and resources. I am an effective and experienced incident commander who has regularly led teams to resolve complex incidents with health and safety always at the core. I am fully committed to our objectives in terms of firefighter safety and community safety and actively promote a safe, positive and inclusive culture.
Watch Commander – Service delivery – Dunfermline Fire Station – Clack, Fife and Stirling LSO area.
I was responsible directly to the Station Commander, ensuring all tasks delegated are completed and returned in a timeous manner.
· Planning and leading the workload for an operational watch to ensure the objectives of the station plan are met.
· Coordination CSE activities to meet local demands and risks and run alongside current thematic action plans.
· Delivery of training and assessments to improve and measure performance. I lead other members of the Watch Command team to ensure training conducted is in line with Training for Operational Competence.
· Respond to operational incidents in the role of Incident Commander to resolve incidents, providing tactical and operational information to ensure the successful outcome of an incident.
· I assume supporting and functional roles as detailed within the Incident command structure as required.
· Following incidents and training events I conduct the debriefing of involved personnel to review and learn from incidents/events and feedback through appropriate Operational Assurance processes.
· Partnership working with Local Authority representatives, Police Scotland and Safer Communities teams to assist in the appropriate control measures involving fire in derelict properties.

• Support and deliver community safety and enforcement programmes to protect the public and make communities safer
• Lead, supervise and develop individuals and teams to maintain and deliver services
• Provide tactical, operational, leadership and support to resolve incidents
• Act as Incident Commander as required
• Supervise and maintain the response of the emergency service
• Support Watch Commanders in the management and administration of a watch and deputise, as directed, in the Watch Commander’s absence.
