Skills

  • Since starting with Short Brothers in 2002 I've gained a lot of experience firstly with being a slitter operator, then a slab controller before briefly being seconded to the cold mill
  • I'm a quick learner, good communicator, a reliable hard worker, easy to get along with and enjoy working as part of a team I always look out for everyone's health and safety and always make sure that the job is done safely and correctly adhering to all SWP's and all other guidelines
  • During my first two roles I've gained extensive knowledge of the Oasis computer system, all health and safety procedures and SWP's Part of my role as a slab controller was the safety of all personnel within the receiving bay area including issuing Crane Standing Orders to any personnel that needed to gain access to any part of the bay for checks, maintenance, breakdowns etc
  • During my time in the Concast I also passed out as a discharge operator whose role is operating the cut off cars to make sure that all slabs are cut to the correct size before being dispatched and also passed out on driving portal and overhead cranes So have vast experience of operating heavy machinery also
  • I think I would be a strong candidate for the role and would love the opportunity to join the team in HCF
