I'm a focused, friendly person who has a lot of experience of team working, health and safety, heavy machinery etc
Which I think would allow me to excel if given the opportunity to be a part of the team in HCF.
I'm a quick learner, a reliable hard worker, have great levels of concentration and an excellent communicator. I enjoy being part of a team and think I have all the necessary skills to join the team and if given the opportunity will be extremely grateful and will always work to the very best of my ability while adhering to all S.W.P's along with all health and safety guidelines.
* Ensuring Adherence to Procedures: Following established operating procedures and safety protocols for slab handling and movement.
Overseeing the safety and welfare of all personnel in the Concast receiving bay including crane and kress carrier drivers, discharge operators and contractors.
Ensuring safe operations of contractor working parties during maintenance and down shifts liaising with all working parties before issuing Crane standing orders.
* Coordination of Slab Handling:
Using the Oasis computer system directing the movement of slabs from the caster to designated areas, such as cooling beds, slab yards, or directly to the next processing stage (e.g., rolling mills). This would involve coordinating with crane operators, kress carrier drivers and other material handling personnel.
* Slab Identification and Tracking:
Ensuring that each slab is correctly identified with its cast number, grade, and other relevant information for traceability throughout the production process
* Traffic Management:
Ensuring the smooth and safe flow of slabs and related equipment within the casting and immediate downstream areas to prevent bottlenecks and accidents.
* Communication:
Maintaining clear and effective communication with the casting operators, maintenance teams, and downstream processing units regarding slab availability, quality issues, and any operational changes.
* Initial Quality Checks:
Performing visual inspections of the newly cast slabs for surface defects (e.g., cracks, inclusions) and dimensional accuracy.
* Data Recording:
Accurately recording production data, quality observations, and any deviations from standards.
* Liaising with Quality Teams:
Reporting any significant quality issues to the quality control department for further inspection and disposition.
* Identifying Potential Issues:
Being proactive in identifying potential operational or safety hazards in the slab handling areas.
* Contributing to Improvement Initiatives: Participating in efforts to improve the efficiency, quality, and safety of the slab handling processes.
* Basic Equipment Checks:
Ensuring routine checks are carried out on the condition of handling equipment (e.g., cranes, transfer cars) and reporting any malfunctions.
