Summary

I have an extensive background in the hospitality trade, working as a head chef and kitchen manager, as a result of the Covid pandemic i retrained to become a delivery driver for multi and single drop roles.

As a Head Chef i was responsible for all aspects of kitchen management and maintenance - working with suppliers and equipment companies to get the best quality and standard of product. I was creating menus, sourcing suppliers, designing kitchens and working in customer facing roles handling cash payments.

As a delivery driver I enjoy the variety of the role, meeting new people and I have a genuine love for driving. I pride myself on efficiency whilst maintaining excellent service.

  • As a self employed driver I was responsible for multiple local rounds, planning routes based on delivery addresses to utilise my time and ensure I was delivering in the most efficient way
  • I built up relationships with customers who I delivered to regularly and often went above and beyond for the more vulnerable or those who needed assistance to take their packages upstairs or into another part of the house
  • When planning my daily route I would provide delivery windows and pride myself on meeting those almost without exception

  • The café is a small, local business using the ingredients found in the lake district to create homemade dishes cooked fresh to order
  • I began working at the café as a consultant chef to help implement changes at the start of the new season
  • The owners were looking for guidance and experience to re-design the kitchen to include an extension along with changes to the café area to modernise and make it more attractive and functional
  • I was also asked to review the menu and create something fresh and local that would entice a new group of customers to the café
  • I was able to approach new suppliers to help with pricing the menu to make a profit but also use good quality ingredients and champion local produce
  • I also implemented regular stock taking, cleaning rotas and staff training in line with newly written service standards
  • I also regularly undertook a customer facing role taking orders, working on the till and delivering food to tables.
  • In the season that I was there the business has seen an almost 50% growth year on year and a 11% reduction in food costs and wastage
  • I enjoyed the chance to put my years of experience and knowledge to good use in order to help a couple expand and improve their business
