Senior Director Marketing - Enterprise and Energy

Led team of five UK-based marketing FTEs focused on global commercial land markets including Energy MSP business. Reported into the President of Viasat Commercial Services, (US-based) and served as part of his leadership team. Budget: $3m.


  • Created and led global partner marketing program – ELEVATE – resulting in revenue increases of onboarded partners by 17% YOY, 9.5/10 NPS and events oversubscribed by 70%
  • Developed Viasat D2D (satellite through cellular chipsets) offering and executed marketing campaign, growing new network subscribers by 600% in two years
  • Combined two land product portfolios into a simple, easy-to-navigate structure and naming system leading to 21% increase in web traffic and 34% increase in web conversions YOY
  • Developed and launched Viasat Digital Bus proposition, and executed marketing campaign, producing 30 new bus company leads and helping team exceed revenue targets for year 1
  • Presided over best performing social channel in the expanded company, from a standing start

  • Developed award-winning "What on Earth is the Value of Space" research looking at public attitudes toward space in collaboration with Ogilvy
  • Worked on ELERA and ORCHESTRA rebranding of our network offerings, contributing to eventual purchase of Inmarsat by Viasat
  • Restructured marketing team to drive high performance culture program in conjunction with HR team
  • Led project to deliver end-to-end sales and marketing process, which was later adopted throughout business

  • Led deployment of new Enterprise section on website as part of new company website project. Resulted in >50% improvement in conversion rates
  • Developed and wrote "Satellite IoT in the time of Covid-19" report, gaining coverage in tier one media and overachievement of our download targets by >100%
  • Successfully pivoted to digital events during Covid lockdowns and reinstated global events calendar in 2022

  • Developed Tailings Monitoring proposition for the mining sector which won the Mining Magazine innovation of the year award.
  • Produced numerous case study videos, travelling extensively (Africa, South America, North America, Australasia) working with non-native English speakers and used these assets to drive engagement and preference for Inmarsat
  • Developed media relations strategy and program, building key messaging and media training spokespeople. This led to us achieving #1 place SOV for key terms such as satellite IoT amongst competitors
  • Created the Inmarsat Research Programme, with numerous largescale global reports produced
  • Ideated the Inmarsat company slogan: 'Enabling the Connected World'

  • Developed UK communications strategy but effectively in charge of communications for Claranet Group, which sat over 6 European countries
  • Established influencer and analyst relations programmes, ensuring company appeared in Gartner Magic Quadrant as a leader for cloud services
  • Established Claranet Research Programme looking at attitudes toward cloud. Did a lot of cloud-washing but established Claranet as a respected thought leader.
  • Worked on numerous acquisition communications (both external and internal)
  • Created speeches and presentations for CEO and MD
  • Led numerous content projects including: web copy, case studies, blogs and videos
