James Fuller

This work involved working effectively and efficiently in a team to perform a variety of jobs throughout an event, including preparing food, serving drinks, watering, washing up and general service for any guests who needed it. At this job I worked at a number of different events, including multiple weddings, corporate events, charity fundraisers and Garden parties, meaning I had to be flexible and adaptable in order to provide the best service possible, as well as very collaborative to work well with a new team each time, all including people I had never met before. This work gave me great experience in how to not only perform a plethora of different skills, but also how to work well with people, both as customers and as colleagues, in order to ensure that the job, whatever it was, was completed both swiftly and to the highest possible standard.

I have now worked for multiple different families to help look after their children whilst they are away, both for extended periods during the day and at night, putting the children to bed, as well. This involves providing fun and entertainment for the children, often by facilitating activities in a safe but also engaging environment, allowing them to enjoy themselves whilst not being at any risk. Furthermore, it involved cooking for the children, where I developed both my culinary skills but also those in catering to the needs and wants of whoever I am looking after; There is a large difference in looking after elderly guests at a party whilst catering and young children whilst babysitting, and during this experience I improved my ability to tailor my service in order to best entertain whoever I was helping and dealing with. This babysitting and looking after children not only developed my ability to work with people, but also gave me great experience in problem solving, which I see as an extremely valuable trait in any workplace.
