I believe that I am a driven and hard working individual that can quickly learn new skills and can improvise, problem-solve and adapt to work within the environment and with the tools at hand. I believe that I am a punctual person and am very capable of working alongside others effectively as well as working independently. I believe I am efficient and effective and can consistently deliver high quality work within timeframes.
This position was a weekend job. I was mainly involved in preparing the vans for markets and ensuring they had the correct produce on them as well as ensuring they were ready in time for the market. I was also involved in the market side and worked on the market stall selling the produce. I also worked within the farm shop interacting and serving customers.
I am responsible for assembling a subframe and then fitting this subframe, this is all done by MIG welding. My job required the installation of a PTO powered pump. I am responsible for fitting the shear plates to the chassis and making any changes and amendments to them in order for them to fit and function correctly. From there I would install the Palfinger lorry crane, once this was completed I would measure and cut the required hydraulic hose and crimp the correct fittings onto the hose and install the hose. In addition to the crane, jobs would typically have additional stabiliser legs, whether it was in front of the cab or at the rear of the chassis, these would also be installed by myself. Once all the installation process was completed I would test the functionality of the crane and pass it on for a load test and quality assurance process. I have completed installations on a variety of chassis and platforms from Mercedes Sprinters and Ford transits to mounting cranes on 40 foot trailers and Scania R-series chassis. I have also been involved in the bodybuilding process and have completed several complete builds from the installation of the cranes to complete the body of the job to the customers requirements and specifications. I have been involved in several service situations as well ranging from callouts to sites to fix worn through hydraulic lines and broken fittings to removing and welding in new leg bosses on smaller epsilon cranes. Throughout my job I have worked alongside design engineers and have fed back information and inputted designs which have been acted upon and implemented.
