I am currently a fleet maintenance supervisor for Merseyside Police, I have held the role for over 7 months and gained a lot of experience. The main job purpose is to supervise a team of vehicle technicians to maintain and repair a specialist fleet of police vehicles efficiently and cost effectively thus meeting all force and legislative requirement's.

My principle accountabilities are:

• Supervise a team of technicians to ensure delivery of fleet services.
• Triage all vehicle related defects and repairs.
• Monitor repairs and carry out quality checks, ensuring vehicles leave the workshop safe for their intended duty.
• Complete all fleet related processes and documentation on the force 'E' platform.
• Undertake performance management of all service areas to ensure processes are working effectively
• Manage KPI achievement against SLA's.
• Deliver methodical technological solutions and seek opportunities to improve service performance.
• Responsible for all quality control standards for all internal and external vehicle maintenance activities, inline with ISDO 9002 standards.
• Responsibility for all staff and contractors on site, Environmental and storage of waste issues including COSHH.
• Accountable for health and safety issues.

I have also enrolled onto an apprenticeship to achieve a NVQ Level 3 in leadership and management and i am awaiting a training date to become a first aider nominated person.

I started working for Merseyside Police as a vehicle technician, my role included:

• Carrying out routine services and MOT inspections Merseyside Police vehicle fleet.
• Upheld stringent health and safety regulations for continued compliance with legislation.
• Accurately diagnosing and repairing faults with vehicles and specialist police equipment.
• Recording work carried out to vehicles on the forces 'E' platform.
• Housekeeping
• Maintained excellent care and condition of workshop tools for smooth-running repairs and procedures.

During my time at Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council my role included:

• Carry out HGV inspections to comply with operators licence and ISO9001.
• Maintaining and diagnosing faults on a wide range of vehicles and plant equipment, from lawn mowers to refuse collection vehicles, including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• MOT tester.
• Taxi compliance tester.
• ROSPA qualified driving assessor, to improve driving standards across the fleet resulting in less accidents, less wear and tear to vehicles and lower fuel consumption.

I started working for Peoples for on a Ford Apprenticeship programme in 2006, I completed my NVQ level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repair and was awarded with a permanent position. I then went on to become an MOT Tester and Ford Senior Technician, this included:

• Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, mechanical and electrical.
• Competing work to warranty guidelines to ensure a successful warranty claim.
• Customer service.
• MOT testing
• Servicing vehicles.
