I am currently a fleet maintenance supervisor for Merseyside Police, I have held the role for over 7 months and gained a lot of experience. The main job purpose is to supervise a team of vehicle technicians to maintain and repair a specialist fleet of police vehicles efficiently and cost effectively thus meeting all force and legislative requirement's.

My principle accountabilities are:

  • Supervise a team of technicians to ensure delivery of fleet services.
  • Triage all vehicle related defects and repairs.
  • Monitor repairs and carry out quality checks, ensuring vehicles leave the workshop safe for their intended duty.
  • Complete all fleet related processes and documentation on the force 'E' platform.
  • Undertake performance management of all service areas to ensure processes are working effectively
  • Manage KPI achievement against SLA's.
  • Deliver methodical technological solutions and seek opportunities to improve service performance.
  • Responsible for all quality control standards for all internal and external vehicle maintenance activities, inline with ISDO 9002 standards.
  • Responsibility for all staff and contractors on site, Environmental and storage of waste issues including COSHH.
  • Accountable for health and safety issues.


I have also enrolled onto an apprenticeship to achieve a NVQ Level 3 in leadership and management and i am awaiting a training date to become a first aider nominated person.
