This past few years I have been very successfully leading variety teams on a day-to-day basis, whether this is freelance (listed above) or my current full-time job as a Senior Technician at the Alexandra theatre. Working in pressure filled fast past environments with the aim to ensure that the build of a show is completed on time in a safe environment. Being able to deliver the wants and needs of clients is an essential aspect of my job, in this time I have learnt, not only to exceed their expectations but become proficient in dealing with problems before they arise. Anticipating the needs of clients before they reveal them has become a skill of mine that I hold with the up-most importance. I often manage people with little to no experience and take pride in ensuring that I lead from the front, it is a personal belief of mine that I should be able to do whatever I ask of others.
Having worked in a freelance capacity for several years I have found that being able to bring the best out of others in is a net positive on every job, being humble enough to understand that every member of the team has something to offer. This ensures that everyone feels valued and appreciated by a member of management that leads from the front setting the example.
