I am a motivated and hardworking individual with a strong interest in electrical and mechanical work. I enjoy building, repairing, and understanding how systems operate, and I am always keen to develop my practical skills further. Through my hobbies, including football and fishing, I have developed patience, teamwork, and focus, which I apply to both work and learning environments. I am a reliable and well-organised team player with strong problem-solving abilities and a logical, creative approach to challenges. I communicate confidently, listen actively, and follow instructions carefully to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. With good time management, adaptability, and a positive attitude, I am committed to developing my skills and building a successful long-term career.
I previously worked as a Kitchen Porter at Wetherspoons on Thorpe Park in Cleethorpes. In this role, I was responsible for cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and dishes to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety regulations were consistently met. I assisted in preparing orders for service, checked stock levels in fridges and freezers, and organised deliveries efficiently, particularly during busy periods. Working in a fast-paced environment required strong teamwork, time management, and attention to detail. This experience strengthened my reliability, work ethic, and ability to perform under pressure, which are valuable skills.
I previously worked in a busy local pizza takeaway where I was responsible for serving customers at the counter, handling both cash and card payments accurately, and ensuring orders were processed efficiently. I regularly communicated with customers to take orders clearly and resolve any issues in a professional manner. I also packed delivery and collection orders carefully, checking items for accuracy before dispatch. Working in a fast-paced environment helped me develop strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. This role strengthened my teamwork, reliability, and customer service skills.
I previously worked in social media and marketing for Cleethorpes Town Football Club, where I collaborated closely with board members to plan and deliver effective social media advertising campaigns. I worked alongside management, players, and supporters to create engaging content that promoted fixtures, events, and club initiatives. This role required strong communication skills, organisation, and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. I was responsible for maintaining a professional online presence and ensuring content reflected the club’s values. Through this experience, I developed teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

I completed a work experience placement at British Steel in Scunthorpe, where I gained valuable insight into industrial engineering environments. During my time at the Rod Mill, I observed complex machinery in operation and learned how electrical and mechanical systems work together to keep production running efficiently. Touring the facility helped me understand the responsibilities and safety standards required in a hands-on workplace. I also visited the control room, where I saw how operators monitor and adjust equipment using advanced control systems. - SEPTEMBER 2025 - 1 DAY
I completed a three-day work experience placement at Phillips 66, where I gained insight into the mechanical, rigging, instrumentation, welding, and electrical departments within the refinery. The placement provided hands-on experience in each area, alongside a full site tour, including the 33,000-volt substation where we learned how high-voltage electricity is stepped down safely for operational use. I also developed an understanding of how crude oil and coke are processed, the scale of daily production, and the journey of materials through the refinery. This experience strengthened my technical interest. - FEBRUARY 2026 - 3 DAYS
I completed a work experience visit with Ørsted, where I toured the facility and learned about the operation of offshore wind farms. During the visit, I explored how wind turbines in the North Sea generate electricity and transfer power to substations before it is distributed for use. I also visited the control room, where skilled operators monitor and manage the sites using advanced systems and CCTV to ensure safe and efficient performance. This experience developed my understanding of renewable energy systems. - JANUARY 2026 - 1 DAY
