This is my current position at Unite Students, consisting of the following responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of skilled technicians ranging from trained team members to qualified plumbers and electricians.
  • Accountable for recruitment and retention of the Facilities team, conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to strengthen the team's cohesiveness.
  • Procurement management and budget reviewing.
  • Manage and assess planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) schedules and implementing remedial actions to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Facilitating 3rd party support, building and strengthening relationships.
  • Fleet management.
  • Responding to and organising reactive jobs as necessary while pre-planning for upcoming maintenance inspections and turnaround periods.
  • A part of a Duty Manager rota, overseeing daily operations across Leicester's portfolio, acting as a point of escalation.

  • Liaised with the developers and contractors, discussing property progression and ongoing issues.
  • Initiating systems (Fire, PPMs, keys/fobs, contracts and more) before first ever property intake.
  • Organised communication towards residents and staff keeping all informed of site developments.
