As a team leader at Tesco I was in charge of coordinating my team in daily operating of the store. I handled schedules and communicated with my team when there were shortages. Organized my team throughout the day, assigning them their workload and helping my team with their tasks whenever possible.
Worked closely with company representatives from other companies selling their goods via Tesco. Helping them with their stock record, placement and sales of products.
Administration work. Making sure cash was counted and secure. Stock records were correct, Health and safety of the building, making sure their was no structural or electrical damage to equipment. Making sure all colleagues were up to date on training and wearing the appropriate PPE.
During my tenure at Co-op I did much the same as my previous employment. I helped stock shelves, interacted with customer queries and maned tills. After a year I was promoted to duty manager. This role put me in charge of leading a team, and dealing with more complicated customer queries. I was also responsible for Managing the store when the store manager wasn't in store. This included opening and closing the store as well as handling, storing and tracking losses form both the tills and the safe. I was also in charge of maintaining health and safety for both the building and staff, by enforcing training and safety regulations. And managing day to day operations of the store.
During my tenure with the company, I took on multiple areas of work. I worked in stock control, making sure no fresh stock was going out of date by reducing the price or wasting stock if damaged or past sell by date. I took overtime in the warehouse offloading trucks and sorting deliveries to different departments around the store. In my last two years I joined the counters staff. I was trained on every counter, but primarily I was a fishmonger and butcher.
