An experienced midwife with over 10 years experience. Midwifery has been a driving passion for many years and I feel privileged I am able to advocate and provide personalised care for women, birthing people and their families. I am hard-working and reliable with strong organisational skills, prioritising safe care of patients, as well as ensuring I am building positive working relationships.
Training and working at Homerton hospital was a valuable foundation to kickstart my career in midwifery. It is a leading maternity unit based in East London with also a tertiary 3 neonatal intensive care unit. I was lucky to be a apart of a multidisciplinary team that provides care to women and their families experiencing high risk obstetric, maternal and neonatal conditions, however in contrast to this it also has a well utilised and sought after Home Birth team and Co located Birth centre.
I was a rotational midwife through my preceptorship year and then continued to work on Delivery Suite for 1 year gaining confidence in my practical and communication skills. Before leaving this trust I worked in Community for 1 year too, this is where I had experience in attending Home Births which helped solidify my individualised care planning skills and knowledge when providing low risk midwifery care.
I am currently working as a well established midwife within the multidisciplinary team, I have been a part of both core teams on the Delivery Suite and Postnatal and Antenatal Wards At present I am a practice education midwife as well as continuing to work clinically on the antenatal and postnatal ward. My main focus has been leading a quality improvement project and change of service for Induction of Labour over the last 2 years. I created training for staff through holding clinical skills sessions, ensured there was good communication relayed to the MDT via emails, posters and presentations especially during the audit process and supported staff fully during the ongoing changes to our practice. I also facilitate Obstetric Emergency skills and drills sessions on a regular basis. My dual role lets me continue to do shift work hours, whilst improving and updating my skills and knowledge where necessary.
