I have experience working with all ages from 5 - 16 years old. I am responsible, welcoming, and caring. My main aims are to encourage children to have fun whilst learning, step outside of their comfort zones, and explore new things. As an effective and enthusiastic teacher with a diverse range of child-related expertise gained through coaching and teaching. I can present and create a challenging and inspiring curriculum. I can encourage students to reach their full potential while also developing trusting, constructive connections with all stakeholders. During my last University placement, my mentor stated, "I create an environment in which students develop a love of learning and physical activity and feel free to express themselves and develop their sporting abilities, regardless of their ability." One of my passions as an educator is igniting students' interest. During my university studies, I completed six teaching placements, including one at a small-scale SEN school and another one at a primary school. This has given me tremendous insight into alternative teaching styles and evaluation strategies that are suited to the unique learning needs and circumstances of each student. I have an up to date understanding of the National Curriculum and a solid foundation that allows me to comprehend the fundamentals of teaching KS2, KS3, and KS4 content. During my 9 months at my current school teaching PE and Personal Development, I had personal experience in both classrooms and a practical setting. I was fortunate enough to do my ECT 1 within the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, where my ambition for teaching increased, my co-operation with other education experts was utilised and my transformation into a more confident strong teacher developed. I strive to create a positive learning environment in which the fear of failure is eliminated. I accomplish this by prioritising praise and over sanctions. Several teaching staff within the schools Trust have highlighted my behaviour and classroom management as a 'major strength of my profession' throughout my time there, citing how swiftly I develop norms and explain my expectations and routines in all my sessions. I am a motivated and energetic person who welcomes a challenge and responsibility. I am a creative person who enjoys developing and making resources that can be utilised while preparing events/activities. I have a real passion for ensuring that children are allowed to learn through real and meaningful first-hand experiences that are relevant to their interests and their needs. I've developed rapport with my students by taking the time to talk to them and discover what interests them, and I've then used that information to assist them in their learning by making lessons relevant and meaningful. My goal as a teacher is to guarantee that every child leaves my classroom with a sense of joy about their learning, and I think that every child has the capacity to succeed and am dedicated to fostering their growth and development. Whether it involves providing individualised support to struggling students, challenging high achievers, or promoting a culture of curiosity and inquiry, I am committed to facilitating the academic and personal growth of all students under my supervision. Another comment given by a member of staff I've worked with stated, "Jade inspires students to participate in lessons with her enthusiastic and driven attitude to all she does. She is completely committed, hard-working, and passionate to her craft, and she uses this technique to instil her enthusiasm in others. Jade has thoroughly involved herself in the school's extracurricular program, running many clubs such as netball and rounders. In my last placement school, I helped to establish Kinball, a new alternative invasion sport. As part of this, I assisted students in discovering a new sport to which they had not previously been exposed. I also gave staff CPD on kinball rules and games, which they could then use to teach students. This experience taught me more about alternative sports and curriculum design, as well as how to provide students with opportunities to explore activities they enjoy and can continue into adulthood. Teaching Personal Development required me to transcend the traditional role of content specialist and become a more holistic educator. It compelled me to prioritise my pupils' social and emotional well-being in addition to their academic performance. Teaching this crucial subject has greatly expanded my teaching practice, making me a more effective, empathetic, and impacting teacher for all my students. Furthermore, my organisational abilities and attention to detail would be beneficial in any teaching position. I am skilled at managing several projects at once, prioritising obligations, and keeping precise records. These abilities are critical to ensuring that lessons operate smoothly and that students receive consistent and high-quality instruction.
Over the last 10 months at Okehampton College my main duties as a Personal Development/ Physical Education and Drama Teacher have been to plan lessons, aligning them with curriculum standards and tailoring them to the specific needs and learning styles of my students. This involves researching resources, crafting engaging activities, and constantly adapting the pace and content to ensure everyone is staying on track. I've spent countless hours tweaking lesson plans, developing differentiated activities for learners of varying abilities. I have also been encouraging collaboration, fostering critical thinking, and guiding students to discover answers for themselves. I've learned to ask thought-provoking questions, encourage debate, and provide constructive feedback that empowers students to grow and learn from their mistakes.
As a teacher i have been tracking student progress. By using a variety of assessment tools - from formative methods to summative tests - to identify areas where students are excelling and areas where they need extra support. Analysing this data allows me to adjust my teaching strategies and provide targeted interventions to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
I regularly communicate with parents about their child's progress, collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, and work with administrators to implement school-wide initiatives.
I have facilitated break and lunch time duties and after school clubs like Netball club.
This year i have had the opportunity to look after a year 10 Tutor where i have had to track attendance and punctuality, monitor academic performance, Liaise with subject teachers, provide academic advice, guide future choices: GCSE options and beyond, promoting wellbeing and positive behaviour. I've also had to support my tutor in work experience opportunities.

I also participated in a range of other activities such as break and lunch duties and after-school clubs, fixtures as well as attending staff meetings/greetings.

Enthusiastically plan and implement a wide range of exciting activities. Ensure that activities are structured, engaging, accessible and enjoyable for all our international students.
