Summary

My previous experience as an administrative assistant, information and receptionist has led to a strong background in organising my work and managing other people's workloads. I also have extensive experience in customer service. I have performed exceptionally well in teams and have been self-motivated to learn about roles above my own to enhance my work. I also have experience working with people from various backgrounds and ages, including children and those with additional needs. I am intensely interested in social sciences, particularly psychology, which has led me to study Criminology.

  • In the morning, I am expected to prep food for the day to a high standard on a strict deadline. Throughout the lunch and dinner shifts, I am a vital component of the kitchen line; this might include rolling bases for pizzas, assembling the orders accurately and cooking the pizzas, or assembling other food items
  • I must work with speed and precision, and communicate with the rest of the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are correct and ready simultaneously
  • I must prioritise tasks to make sure everything is ready for the customer at the same time.
  • I am also expected to keep the kitchen and prep room to a very high standard of cleanliness. Having completed a Food and Hygiene Level 2 qualification, I am regularly retested to ensure the cleaning is done correctly.
  • Working in a kitchen has strengthened my teamwork skills, specifically working as a team under pressure and in a stressful environment. It has meant I can work quickly and keep things accurate while thinking fast and organising my tasks.

  • I organised and made sure invoices matched up with deliveries and any problems were raised to the appropriate people.
  • I accepted and signed for mail, organising it to give it to the correct people.
  • This role taught me to be very organised and improved my Microsoft office skills.

  • I warmly welcomed people as they entered the showroom and answered any questions they may have had about the products.
  • I would book clients with designers for kitchen design appointments. This meant managing the designer's schedules and ensuring they were being put with the designer that best suited them as people and for the type of kitchen they were looking for.
  • Working here has improved my customer service skills and confidence in talking to customers.
  • I have learned how to diffuse difficult situations regarding complaints and form bonds with a customer so they are happy talking to me about problems and feel actively listened to.
  • I also spent much time with designers and learnt the process beyond my role so I could better explain the kitchen design process to clients.
