  • Being a key holder - This involves opening and closing the store. Making sure the file is signed and correct for the day. Ensuring the fire alarms, the emergency lighting are all correct and in order.
  • My time management factors very heavily in how I run my shifts. We are given specific jobs to do throughout the day. It is up to myself to make sure those jobs are completed and to a very high standard.
  • Delivering excellent customer service, is something that comes naturally to myself. Making sure the customer feels safe, happy and relaxed whilst shopping in store is incredibly important. Building up a rapport is something I always try to achieve.

Customer Assistant

Marks and Spencer
Lincoln

  • Interaction with customers, whether that be on the tills; when they are placing an order at the ordering point; or simply just a query they have. Being able to carry out this simple procedure can be challenging at times but building a rapport with the customer and making sure they feel respected is something I pride myself on.
  • Solid communication, not only with the customers but colleagues at all levels. Daily floor debriefs with my Section Coordinator and Line Manager give me an excellent opportunity to reflect departmental progress and of the other secondary duties as per business of the day.
  • Time Management factors heavily in day to day tasks: Making sure the morning delivery is out by a certain time; ensuring the standards are carried out; making sure the customers queries are answered and dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • In November 2014, I made the decision to transfer from a Marks and Spencer Clothing Store to a Marks and Spencer Simply Food Store based in Grantham.
  • Upon making the transfer, I worked in the Café: I became a Barista, this involves producing the hot beverages for the customers. This not as simply, at first, as it appears, as my confidence grew I became very efficient at producing them.
  • I maintained numerous stock levels records as to what products we had in the fridges and freezers, what temperature the oven and the microwaves were at the time off the products going in, and what temperature the products were coming out off the oven and microwave.
  • Complete replenishment requisitions.
