I am a reliable, hardworking support worker giving respite support for the parents/carers of the disabled children that I help look after. I have over 4 years experience in this role. It is a challenging role but it is one that I enjoy doing as I get a lot of satisfaction helping the children to enjoy themselves at our sessions.
I work full-time during the summer holidays as part of a team looking after disabled children on trips out to various local places. I also do this on different sites and locations such as schools and sports centres during the summer holidays. At other times of the year, I work part-time doing this same role at after-school sessions.
I feel I work well as part of a team and have great relationships with all my colleagues I have a lot of patience and have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations as I work with children with very challenging behaviours I feel that I have good listening skills and have the ability to adapt and act accordingly to challenging situations that may be created by the children I have led sessions so I feel that I have very good leadership qualities I have also done various online training and on-site training courses in my role such as safeguarding children, disability awareness and data protection
