Tasks that are a part of my current role:

  • Functional behaviour assessments, formulating PBS plans and supporting teams implement plans.
  • Ongoing monitoring of incidents of behaviours that may challenge and the use of limits to freedom in risk management.
  • Supporting staff teams with debriefs after significant incidents and observations and coaching sessions.
  • Designing and delivering training such as Introduction to PBS, Autism Awareness and person-specific bespoke training.
  • Collaborative working with the person supported, their families and the broader team of health professionals.
  • Supporting people transitioning to KSC and their staff teams.


The highlights of my current post are:

  • Designing and implementing a PBS referral system across all KSC services, with a focus on capable environment strategies and active support.
  • Designing and implementing a PBS matrix to structure functional behaviour assessments, behaviour recording tools and evaluating tools that support evidence-based decision-making within the PBS team with specific formulation documentation.
  • Designing an implementation plan to support staff where there are complex support needs.
  • Designing specific support plans for PRN usage to support staff using this appropriately.
  • Implementing the REFLECT model to support debriefs.
