  • Provide clinical assessment to patients of all ages for undifferentiated presentations.
  • Assess, manage, and refer patients presenting with both illness and injury for all ages.
  • Request, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as: ECG, urinalysis, xray, swabs, and culture requests.

Prior to registration as a paramedic, I worked as a Band 5 Emergency Medical Technician. Upon registration as a paramedic, I automatically progressed into a Band 6 Paramedic role. These roles only included work within two emergency departments within Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, however, my employment with iD Medical includes the availability to work in a variety of settings within the United Kingdom. Within the emergency departments, my responsibilities included:

- Provide clinical care to patients of varying acuity.
- Obtain observations, ECGs, cannulation and venepuncture
- Administer prescribed medications through a variety of routes, adhering to the 6 R's of medication administration
- Clinically lead an area within the department when required
- Maintain a professional responsibility to ensure that patient care was delivered appropriately, in line with guidance/policy
- Liaise with a variety of colleagues such as nursing staff, doctors, administration teams, site management, emergency response teams, and porters
- Clinically escort patients to other areas of the hospital when clinical need dictated, being responsible for recognising any deterioration and managing individual emergencies
- Adhere to IPC requirements.
