- This job was very comprehensive providing me with a broad skillset from top to bottom (literally); from groundworks to steelworks. Also gaining experience with first and second fix electrics and plumbing.
- We carried out a range of jobs from complex residential extensions to more simple patios and fencing jobs.
- The job comprised of a lot of problem solving. No job is the same and therefore always throws up hurdles you've never encountered! This requires you to be able to think on your feet and figure out solutions in order to achieve full customer satisfaction.
- For the first few years I was working under our most senior site manager. Following this, I acquired to the skills to work mainly independently (although not afraid to ask for guidance). As a result I'm used to following instructions and learning from the tuition of someone more experienced.
- Of course, as a result, I'm well-versed in using a variety of power tools: SDS drills, angle grinders, multi tools, combi drill/impact drivers and many more.
- As previously mentioned, there are often unforeseen hurdles that must be overcome. This often times resulted in having to work longer hours than anticipated in order to meet the deadlines.
- The job also entailed logistical demands. Knowing what tools and materials are required on the van/site to get the job done efficiently and how long those will take to arrive.
- Overall, the job is very hands on and I am continuing to learn many skills that I'm confident will transfer into other ventures in life.

Affiliations
- I like to spend my free time, on the weekends, in the outdoors with mates: rock climbing/climbing mountains and hiking. I am generally very goal orientated and one of these goals is get into Alpine climbing and climb the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
- Another interest of mine which often ties in to the first one is fitness. I like to train everyday when possible whether it be just going for a run or heading to the gym to lift weights. It definitely helps to be fit and strong especially when carrying out manual work.
