As part of my leadership responsibilities, I drive process optimisation and standardisation across logistics and inventory workflows. This includes developing SOPs, improving tracking and reporting tools, and introducing scalable processes that enhance efficiency, transparency, and service reliability across multiple locations. I act as a senior escalation point for logistics and supply chain issues, providing clear decision‑making, stakeholder communication, and operational direction during high‑pressure or time‑critical situations. I also support team development by mentoring staff, setting expectations, and promoting best practices across logistics and inventory operations. A core part of my role is budget forecasting and financial governance across logistics and supply chain operations. I forecast and manage logistics spend, inventory holding costs, consumables, and project‑based expenditure, ensuring alignment with operational demand and approved budgets.

I analyse historical usage data, deployment forecasts, and upcoming project pipelines to predict future spend, identify cost drivers, and support accurate budget planning. I work closely with finance and procurement teams on PO management, cost centre allocation, vendor spend tracking, and variance analysis.

I take full responsibility for the daily operation, organisation, and control of warehouse activities, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of goods from receipt through storage, issue, and dispatch.

On a day‑to‑day basis, I oversee inbound and outbound movements, ensuring deliveries are received correctly, checked against documentation, and safely stored in line with warehouse layouts and stock‑control procedures. I ensure all items are accurately recorded, labelled, and traceable, maintaining high standards of stock accuracy and housekeeping at all times. I lead by example on the warehouse floor, coordinating work activities, prioritising workloads, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently to meet operational deadlines. I regularly operate material‑handling equipment (such as pallet trucks, forklifts, or cages where applicable) and ensure safe manual handling practices are followed by all staff. A key part of my role is maintaining stock integrity and inventory accuracy. I carry out cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues proactively to prevent loss, damage, or disruption to operations. I also ensure stock is rotated correctly, stored securely, and issued on a first‑in, first‑out basis where required.

As a senior member of the team, I support and guide junior warehouse staff, providing on‑the‑job training, setting standards, and ensuring compliance with warehouse procedures, health & safety requirements, and site rules. I act as a point of escalation for operational issues and work closely with supervisors, logistics teams, and site management to keep warehouse operations running smoothly. I continuously look for ways to improve warehouse efficiency, whether through better layout, improved workflows, or clearer processes, helping to reduce waste, improve turnaround times, and maintain a safe, organised working environment.

I am responsible for the safe, accurate, and time‑critical handling of air cargo within British Airways’ cargo operation, ensuring shipments move efficiently from acceptance through build‑up, flight departure, arrival, and release in full compliance with aviation and security regulations. On a day‑to‑day basis, I receive, inspect, and process inbound and outbound cargo, verifying shipment details, weights, dimensions, and documentation against airway bills and cargo manifests. I ensure freight is correctly labelled, screened, and secured prior to acceptance, refusing or escalating any shipment that does not meet safety, security, or regulatory requirements. I build and break Unit Load Devices and pallets to precise load plans, ensuring cargo is correctly distributed, protected from damage, and prepared for safe aircraft loading. I work closely with ramp teams, warehouse staff, and flight operations to ensure cargo is delivered to the aircraft on time and in the correct condition, supporting punctual departures in a fast‑moving operational environment. A key part of my role is maintaining strict compliance with aviation regulations, including security screening requirements, customs controls, and IATA Dangerous Goods regulations. I verify documentation for regulated cargo, identify special handling requirements such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, valuables, or hazardous goods, and ensure all cargo is handled by trained personnel in line with approved procedures. I regularly coordinate with freight forwarders, customs teams, ground handling agents, and airline operations, providing updates on cargo status, resolving discrepancies, and responding quickly to operational challenges such as late arrivals, weight changes, or flight disruptions. Accurate record‑keeping and system updates are critical, and I ensure all movements are logged correctly to maintain traceability and audit compliance. Working in a 24/7, safety critical environment, I remain flexible and calm under pressure, prioritising workload to meet flight cut‑off times while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and teamwork. My role directly supports British Airways’ global cargo network, ensuring essential goods from commercial freight to life‑saving medical supplies reach their destinations reliably and securely.

I am responsible for the accurate, reliable, and timely delivery of letters and parcels to homes and businesses within my designated delivery route, ensuring the community stays connected through a trusted public service. Each day begins at the delivery office, where I sort mail and parcels for my route by postcode and address order, using manual sorting frames and automated systems where applicable. I prepare deliveries efficiently to ensure my route is completed safely and on time, even when volumes fluctuate. Once prepared, I deliver mail on foot, by bicycle, or using a delivery van, navigating my route independently and working to tight schedules. I ensure items are delivered to the correct address, collect customer signatures for recorded or special deliveries, and follow established procedures when recipients are unavailable, maintaining security and accountability at all times. I regularly collect outgoing mail from post boxes, post offices, and local businesses, returning items to the delivery office or processing centres for onward movement. Accurate handling and scanning ensure each item remains traceable throughout the postal network.
