Ecology & Biodiversity Net Gain Consultant

Talk-Ecology
Talke Pits
2025.10 - Current

As Director of Talk Ecology, I oversee and deliver a broad range of ecological consultancy services across the UK, specialising in Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, protected species surveys and habitat condition assessments. My role involves managing projects from initial client engagement through to survey delivery, technical report writing and project coordination, ensuring work is completed to a high professional and technical standard.

I regularly undertake UKHab and Phase 1 habitat surveys, breeding bird surveys, bat and barn owl assessments, BNG calculations and ecological constraints assessments for a wide range of development projects. I am highly proficient in GIS software including QGIS, QField and ArcGIS Pro, producing detailed habitat mapping and spatial analysis to support ecological reporting and planning requirements.

Alongside technical consultancy work, I manage client relationships, pricing, project scheduling and business development, working collaboratively with planners, architects, landscape architects and multidisciplinary teams.
