Prior to going into administration, the company Real Group Construction Ltd, set up by the previous Wates Residential MD in 2021, approached my college looking for one person to join the company as a apprentice Quantity Surveyor.

They conducted 12 interviews from a selection of people on my course, me being one of them.

I was the chosen candidate to be offered the role, thereby providing a great opportunity to further my knowledge with the Construction Consultancy.

During my time at REAL, I learnt professionalism and how people within the industry communicate and handle clients whilst attending meetings.

I had the opportunity to apply my knowledge from college to gather designs for a project, also to take part in some of the costing and price ups of the builds.

I was really disappointed when I received the phone call from my mentor to say the company had gone into administration.
