Experienced bench joiner/shop fitter/stand builder with good attention to detail and a motivation to pick up new skills and learn from new jobs and tasks to ensure the job gets done and done right. practice safe working and try to work as smart as possible to make the job go smooth for everyone working and have no problems. I am currently working in exhibition stand building for shows at the NEC and other centres around the country and feel I have learnt fairly quick when I have been handed new jobs/tasks.
I like to keep busy and have something to be doing 24/7 to keep my mind active and I'm also very willing to work long hours, travel inside and out of the country. also willing to drive long hours when needed.
I would get a job handed to me where I then read the drawing and transfer it onto a set out which helps all the fitters understand the stand we are building without all the complicated unnecessary markings such as electrics, air and water pipes.
I have used machines such as table saws, chop saw, routers and trimmers, circular saw, jigsaw, multitool, drills, orbital sanders, nail/pin guns to cut, shape and fix structures that I have made to go on stands and even create the structures.
I have had to use my knowledge of materials and their weights to make structures and units as strong and lightweight as possible so they are easy to move around and lift on site.
I have built cupboards, counters and other units that have either been out to stores as bare units or delivered and fitted by ourselves.
I have worked on building sites and in stores preparing them for store opening dates/handovers.
I have worked under time limits to ensure units are being built to fit the quotas and also worked fitting shops out for deadlines.
I have also been on the builds of care homes building and sprucing up living areas, social rooms and coffee lounges.
