Although I am currently a builder my aspirations are to go back to working with children, which has been my goal for sometime.
When working and volunteering at the Primary School I worked in nursery class mainly, but throughout the Primary School, When I was actually employed on a contract I cared for a child with severe Cerebral Palsy, which was in a lot of ways very rewarding, but a difficult job too, but I feel I made a difference to his first school year.
I did a variety of things as a Teaching Assistant including role play sensory play, sporting activities, reading and writing and crafts etc, all of which would be useful going forward.
I have also volunteered on many occasions with Ingleton Scout Group since I left Explorers at the age of 17, again this covers a wide range in ages and lots of different skills which differ from that of a school.
In my personal life, skills that I think would be of use are losing my dad at the age of 9 and growing up with my mum and brothers, A very sad time of my life, but it has taught me some different lessons in life which I have used to support other young people who have been in the same situation and this experience although not one that you would want has made me a stronger person,
I also have a daughter who is nearly 2 years of age and my experience with her is ever changing and something that I would like to pass on to others,
