Work history

Apprentice Planner

Telent Technology Services
Warwick
09.2022 - 09.2025
  • Responsible for determining project management procedures according to business requirements and client specifications. Working closely with project managers and engineers to assemble an accurate and detailed project plan and timeline. I work in a challenging client focussed environment where complex questions are often asked by senior employees.
  • From my role at Telent I have been involved in large scale projects for clients such as Maritime Coastguard Agency, University of Bristol, and Ambulance Radio Programme. I have also gained experience working out in the field alongside skilled engineers, whereby I have assisted with installation of Sky and Adtran hardware in BT exchanges, installation of Cisco access points in University of Bristol campus buildings, as well as installing turn-out systems within fire stations.
  • I was successful in being selected as one of two apprentices to participate in a two week fully funded international work experience programme in Germany working with Telent GmbH. During the 2 weeks I gained experience in IP addressing and subnetting, network performance testing, firmware and configuration updating, lab testing, building power boxes for racks in a pre-assembly workshop, building circuit boards and testing, as well as spending a day working on the Service Desk and in the Network Operations Centre. As well as gaining technical knowledge, I also gained confidence when presenting to many people which included people of all levels, from apprentices to senior staff.
  • Responsibilities include: -
  • Meetings with project managers and engineers to determine a fixed date for activities and project baselining.
  • Participation in regular client reviews.
  • Regular health & safety protocol management
  • Overseeing progress on site
  • Practical understanding

Plumber’s Mate

KC Plumbing & Heating
Warwick
06.2021 - 07.2022
  • Working closely with an established Gas and Heating Engineer I have developed a wide skill set. The role requires a high level of responsibility, problem solving and cost-effective customer solutions. I work in a busy and challenging environment where time management and self-motivation is vital to ensuring high customer satisfaction. I particularly value working in a close team environment and take pride in maintaining high standards.
  • During my time at college a lot of content on electrical components and control systems were covered. I learned how to terminate cables, safe electrical isolation, fault finding, as well as how the electrical controls and components are installed and operated on heating systems. As a plumber it is vital that I have knowledge of how electrical systems work, not only for health and safety regulations but also to have a good understanding of how plumbing and electrical systems are interconnected, helping to troubleshoot or diagnose any issues on a heating system, or carry out maintenance effectively.
  • Responsibilities include: -
  • Fault finding / diagnosis of heating system breakdowns, locating blockages and leaks in sanitary systems, investigation of electrical faults on heat circulating pumps, boiler wiring centres and electrical showers.
  • Maintenance and servicing of boilers, hot water cylinders, gas fires and hobs.
  • Safety Checks. Ensuring 3 tiers of safety on hot water cylinder is intact and fully working to normal function. Complying with British Standards documentation. Electrical fault finding and safe isolation.
  • Second fix plumbing – installation of basins, showers, radiators, underfloor heating sinks, taps, outdoor taps, boilers, cylinders, tiling.

Hobbies and Interests

Cycling is a very big passion of mine. At the age of 11 I cycled to the top of the Stelvio Pass, Italy and rode up Mont Ventoux, France, at the age of 15. Between the years of 2021 – 2023 I competed in a sponsored racing team known as Stolen Goat Race Team, based in Hampshire. I competed to a high amateur level participating in road races, time trials and circuit races throughout the UK, France, and Belgium. For now, I have paused racing to focus on my professional career; however, I still cycle with friends for fun and take part in sporting events. In May 2025 I took part in the Traka 360, which is a 360-kilometre gravel event in Girona, Spain – completing this was one of my proudest moments., I am a keen Sunderland AFC fan and season ticket holder, I attend games with my family & friends, so far I have visited 25 stadiums. As well as watching football I take lots of enjoyment out of playing it too, occasionally taking part in 5 aside matches., I enjoy travelling and the great outdoors, often finding time to go camping. I have walked stretches of the Cumbria Way, as well as organising a charity event where colleagues from Telent and myself took on a 20-mile route in fancy dress along the Edale Skyline route in the Peak District, raising over £1000 for Mind.
