  • Maintain that all vehicles that are advertised are showing with the correct information (age, model, price, technical specifications.)
  • Maintain the the display stock on site at the dealership. This would be checking car batteries, fuel, tire pressures.

This would also include longer trips to occasionally drop off a sold vehicle to a customer, sometimes driving as far as Exeter, along with driving to other Listers commercial sites in the midlands.
  • In my last year I was also in charge of keeping track of Listers new commercial van stock that was kept at Boston. This meant going there once a month to do a physical stock take and check all the vans were in working order.
  • General jobs around the site, this could include odd jobs such as moving customers cars or demonstrators into more suitable and organised parking spaces. Helping maintain the site by making notes for the managers of broken objects such as floor tiles, light bulbs and leaking pipes.
  • Checking in all new vehicles that would arrive to site, making sure that there was no signs of visible damage when they would come off of the delivery trucks. For example, checking for scratches in the paint, damaged alloys, dents and chipped windscreens.
  • Checking in used vehicles. This would be the same process as checking in the new vehicles.
  • Occasionally I would help out in other departments when required, I spent 2 months helping admin organised archived folders that went back to 2013 when they needed to find files for diesel emissions claims. I have also spent a couple of weeks helping out as the parts van driver when no one else was able to do so.
  • Assisting with the financial end of year stock take. This would mean physically tracking every car an making sure it was present on site and accounted for, Then me or my colleague would be the ones to do the audit the next day and show the auditor where every vehicles location was.
