I'm currently studying Classics, English and Psychology at college and I intend to hopefully go on to study Law in the United States after A-Levels. One of my biggest achievements was when I ran a small confectionery food business from my kitchen called Fudgit and I managed to get a five star food hygiene rating from Swindon Borough council for my hygiene and organisation. This wasn't easy, it involved hours of food hygiene courses, detailed documentation of cleaning records/recipes, documentation of procedures and risk assessments and communication with a public health officer from the council. This experience gave me vital organisational and documentation skills as well as critical skills in communication and experience in customer service, as I routinely had to converse with customers and public health officials in a professional manner. I also gained core communication skills from the Peer4support programme, which was organised by Bernardo's. This course took me one year to complete and involved sensitivity training, Safeguarding training, mental health training, team building exercises with other mentors and problem solving skills. As a part of this course, we had 1-2-1 mentoring sessions weekly with younger students who experienced mental health issues and helped them overcome personal issues and provide emotional support to make their school life and personal life as easy as possible. Most importantly, I believe I'm an organised and quick thinking individual, with the necessary skills to be able to handle demanding roles and effectively communicate with others to ensure that tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently- and I think my personal achievements reflect this behaviour.
