Work history

Software Engineer

MBDA
Bristol, England
08.2023 - 11.2025

Software:

  • Produced clear, structured documentation, including step-by-step integration guides, which improved our team's knowledge capture and standardised engineering workflows.
  • Created a Local Operating Procedure (LOP) that defined how our team uses its software toolset, establishing consistent practices for version control, branching, review processes, and build workflows. This LOP directly supports and strengthens our team’s Software Configuration Management plan by formalising the tools, methods, and controls used across the development lifecycle.
  • Developed safety-critical C++ software and wrote unit tests in Google Test, improving coverage and catching issues before integration.
  • Developed code to be compliant with the MISRA standard and contributed to code reviews focused on code quality and readability

Work Experience:

  • Supported two work experience programmes per year, coordinating schedules and liaising with multiple departments to build a varied and engaging programme.
  • Work with HR and Outreach teams to support advertising and ensure smooth programme setup, while assisting new team members during onboarding.
  • Improved programme structure by introducing project planning techniques (WBS, Gantt charts, prioritised task tracking), making planning more consistent and transparent.
  • Created clear guides, checklists, and onboarding documentation to standardise how the programme is delivered.
  • Reviewed students' applications and conducted interviews.
  • Supported 32 students to date, answering career questions and delivering activities related to apprenticeships and early careers.

  • Other duties such as leading monthly 121s, admin, effective training, and ensuring H&S procedures completed the role and provided an engaging opportunity for my development during my A Levels.
