Pensions Payroll and Elections Officer

· Assisting in the preparation and production of the various payrolls for

the City and County of Swansea via the Fusion system, working in

conjunction with Oracle systems, Teachers Pensions, EWC, GOSS,

Altair (Pensions), Microsoft Office and SharePoint, in a timely and

accurate manner and in compliance with all related legislation.

· Updating and maintaining accurately and efficiently all data within the

Fusion/Oracle and SharePoint systems.

· Operating within a framework of detailed regulation.

· Ensuring that quality contract targets are met

· Processing PR forms and estimates, providing accurate CARE and Final

Salary figures and service to the Pensions Department within the

required time frame. This requires a knowledge of Payroll regulations

in relation to Pensionable pay.

· Calculating redundancy payments for the HR department where

appropriate and the calculation of assumed pensionable pay in cases

such as sick and maternity leave.

· Interpreting historic record cards and paperwork to provide accurate

service history to the Pension Department.

While working for Leeds City Council I was also heavily involved in the system testing of its in-house database. This required me to make necessary adjustments to the ‘test’ system in order to establish that the updated patches were correct and worked in conjunction with each other. Any errors were reported and passed to Civica who were responsible for updating each new version of the system.
